However, there are some major differences between high-waisted and low-rise jeans that shouldn’t be missed. So before you make a decision, try on and see what’s best for you!

What is a Low Rise?

Worn at your hips, low rise pants are meant to sit well below your natural waist. They became popular during the 60s and 70s and have made a huge comeback over the past few years, maybe it might be on its way out again; it will certainly not be the last you see of them! Unlike short and mid rise pants, low rise pants are not meant to conform to your natural waist.

What is a High Rise?

High-waisted jeans are designed to sit high on, or above the hips, usually higher than the navel.

High waisted jeans were once the “go-to” choice among women during the late 1980s and early 1990s. They gradually fell out of style — up until now, at least. It’s safe to say that high-waisted jeans are now making a comeback, with celebrities and pretty much every women wearing some kind of high waisted jean or trouser.

Comfort?

Now for the million-dollar question: which style of jeans are more comfortable to wear? High-waisted or low-rise? You might assume that low-rise jeans are the most comfortable to wear, simply because they don’t constrict your movement of pinch when sitting. This is true in some cases, but as long as you choose premium, high-quality denim, you’ll find that both high-waisted and low-rise jeans are equally as comfortable to wear.

You can’t really go wrong with either low rise or high waisted Consider the occasion for which you’ll be wearing jeans and choose a rise that’s most appropriate. I recommend owning both styles of jeans so you can alternate them throughout the week. You can wear high-waisted jeans during the first half of the week and low-rise jeans during the other half.
